More of ME

Good Magazine : Come see MK Ultra's other home on the World Wide Web! It has much of the same content as this website! Why bother going there, then? Well, because it's also chock-full of witty writing by a wide variety of contributors (including yours truly) that's been covered in such illustrious publications as the Globe and Mail, the National Post, and Broken Pencil. See Mark Kingwell's burgeoning libel lawsuit before it starts!

More on MK Ultra

MK-Ultra: The CIA and Radiation : For more information on the CIA's dastardly Cold War plotting, here's the interim Report of the Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments. Specifically, it's the Appendix, pp. E-1.1 to 1.6.

History House: LSD and the CIA : A little less dry is this site detailing CIA party tricks and practical jokes, including a narrowly-averted plot to spike the punch bowl with LSD at the annual CIA Christmas party. Spook freak-out!

1977 Senate Report on MKULTRA : Includes the complete 171-page record of the August 3, 1977 hearing by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, held to question CIA officials on a rare cache of MKULTRA documents that had been thought destroyed, but turned up in the CIA's Retired Records Center. More info than you'd ever want or need.

Central Intelligence Agency : While you're at it, why not pay a visit to the Central Intelligence Agency itself? Meet the folks who give you both LSD to send you on a trip, and the CIA World Factbook to let you know where you're going.

More of the people who think mind control is pretty cool

MK Ultra Magazine : Somebody else thought it would be a great idea to name themselves after a sinister government drug experiment--and who wouldn't think that? Certainly not the people at this Chicago based magazine, which bills itself as "the Darkest Rock and Roll Publication in the World." It being a world where Rolling Stone names the Backstreet Boys its Band of the Year, who am I to disagree?

mkULTRA--the band : "Forget music magazines," you say. "MK Ultra is a great name for a band!" If you wanted it, you're out of luck --this San Francisco-based art rock quartet got it first. They broke up in 1999 though, so the name might just be up for grabs (if it isn't, you can have "Spook Freak-out"). Me, I'll just settle for that URL.

More links to places I've been

Queen's University : My former post-secondary institution, and home of the following:

Queen's Engsoc : My former Engineering Society publishers, and home of the following:

Golden Words : My former university humour paper, and original home of MK Ultra, the comic.

GW Has-beens Crazee Page : The home for decrepit former Golden Words staffers. You'd think GW would have a link to this.

More people I know

Psychobilly Freakout! : There's spook freakouts, and then there's psychobilly freakouts. Former GW luminary Beau Levitt's homepage, updated near-daily, features some of the most sordid, bizarre, and hilarious writing I've read outside the Brockville Recorder and Times' regional news coverage.

Ass Super Ass : If oft-updated, hilarious prose isn't your speed, try a seldom-updated picture of a squirrel with gigantic testicles, courtesy of my good friend Scott Feenstra.Yeah, the site is never updated, but I feel obligated to put him on my links page because he once pulled my lifeless carcass out of a house fire and nursed me back to health. Now we're even.

The False Idol : Current web home of hilarious GW alumnus Jay Pinkerton. When you're done visiting Yahoo! Germany and Ask Charlton Damned Heston, why not check out the gentle good humour of Me and Fred Savage?

hydrogen : Capitalization? Not here! Nonetheless, Craig Norton's site is worth the occasional look-see.

More of the things that I find pretty funny

Bob The Angry Flower : At one time, Bob was one of my more obvious influences. At least, he was to me. Then again, I ought to know these things. At any rate, it's a cartoon about an angry flower and it's pretty hilarious most of the time. I heartily recommend it.

Space Moose : You thought Bob was antisocial? Then you haven't seen the sociopathic Space Moose. Go look at it and try to figure out why it got banned from the University of Alberta's web servers. Now, don't break your arm pating yourself on the back, Sherlock.

The Onion : On the off chance you haven't heard of The Onion, here's your link. This is the satirical news publication modern-day Golden Words wishes they could be.

McSweeney's Internet Tendency : Is there a place on the Internet for intelligent, literary wit? There must be. Try looking at McSweeney's–it's probably your best shot.
